Gunskirchen, Austria, September 1, 2015 – BRP will once again provide Rotax engines for portable Rosenbauer fire pumps.  After a 19-year hiatus, the modified Rotax 600 ACE engines will be used for the new model of the Rosenbauer FOX S portable fire pump starting in November 2015.

The Rotax 2-cylinder, 4-stroke 600 ACE engine, developed initially for BRP's Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, was calibrated to be used under the severe conditions of fire brigade operations.

"The cooperation between both our companies has a long history. Rosenbauer's portable fire pumps were first equipped with Rotax engines in 1945," stated Dieter Siegel, CEO Rosenbauer International AG. "Due to its low weight, compact design and proven reliability, Rosenbauer chose Rotax engines for the new generation of our portable fire pumps."

"Rosenbauer is the world's largest provider of firefighting systems and is renown as the technology and innovation leader in its industry," said Thomas Uhr, vice-president BRP-Powertrain and General Manager BRP-Powertrain GmbH & Co KG. "BRP's own focus on innovation has ensured that Rotax engines perform well under many varying environments, from snow to water and arid deserts. We are confident that the Rotax 600 ACE line is a good fit for the harsh requirements of firefighting operations."
